Overview

At the wild and windswept northern tip of the island, the clifftop restaurant at the Animal Flower Cave offers one of the most dramatic dining settings in Barbados — perched above the crashing Atlantic, where it can feel almost like dining at sea.

Owner-run by third-generation custodians Mannie and Sue Ward, it pairs a visit to the famous sea cave below with a relaxed, scenic lunch above.

The kitchen follows an ocean-to-plate, farm-to-fork ethos, serving tasty Barbadian dishes built around fresh local fish and the Wards’ own free-range Blackbelly lamb (their signature lamb stew is a must-try), alongside breadfruit tacos and other island plates. With a sun deck, bar and a fun children’s play area, it’s a memorable stop on any north-coast drive.
