Itinerary

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into Leandra’s home. She’s a local Barbadian and your host. It’s a relaxing and inviting space where you can settle in and enjoy a refreshing local drink while everyone arrives.

Once the experience begins, Leandra will formally greet you, share a little about the story behind Cool Comfortz, and give a brief overview of how the experience will unfold. This includes a short round of introductions before moving on to the next part of the Fruit-to-Scoop experience.

This is where we start with the fruits themselves.

We’ll talk through some of the fruits you’ll find in Barbados and how they’re enjoyed locally. Then, you’ll see a curated selection of fresh in-season fruits for you to explore. Some may be familiar, others completely new.

We’ll taste them together, chat about what you notice, what you like (or don’t like!), and what surprises you. There’s no right or wrong.  It’s all about discovering the fruits before we turn them into something special later on.

Now it’s time to get hands-on with the fruits. Under Leandra’s guidance, you will work together as a group to prepare the fruits for the sorbet; peeling, scooping or removing seeds….whatever the fruit needs and mixing them into the base for your frozen treat. Each fruit has its own little step, so everyone gets involved in the process.

Leandra will explain what each ingredient brings to the sorbet and guide the group through each step, so the sorbet comes together smoothly. At the end, you’ll get to taste a little of the mixture before it goes into the ice cream maker.

After all the hands-on work, it’s time to enjoy the fruits in a whole new way. You’ll be served a curated tasting of four house-made sorbets, each one featuring a different local fruit. Some sorbets might be from fruits tasted earlier in the experience and some might surprise you with new flavours.

As you taste each one, you can notice the differences, see which you like best, and have fun comparing the flavours with the group and Leandra. It’s a simple, delicious way to celebrate the flavours of Barbados before we move on to the next part of the experience.

After tasting the sorbets, it’s time for a bit of fun with a fruit-themed game. Don’t worry though it’s totally relaxed and no-pressure. You’ll get to put your new fruit knowledge to the test in a fun playful way. Everyone gets involved and laughs are guaranteed.

As the experience comes to an end, you’ll take home the pint of sorbet you helped create during the workshop. It’s a little reminder of the day, something you can enjoy later or share with friends.

As you say your goodbyes and head off, you will leave with the memories of a really unique taste of Barbados.
