Tucked into a converted West Indian bungalow on a quiet side road at Derricks — a short stroll from The Cliff — Cariba is a warm, intimate west-coast favourite serving “modern Caribbean cuisine with an Asian twist.” It’s the work of internationally trained executive chef-owner Glen Bent, who honed his craft at five-star establishments including Sandy Lane, and his wife Faye, who runs a notably warm front of house.

Since opening in 2008 the couple have built a loyal following of residents and visiting food lovers, drawn by Glen’s inventive plates of local seafood and seasonal produce, beautifully presented, and a much-loved range of homemade ice creams and desserts. Recognised with a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award, it’s a relaxed, characterful spot for a special dinner.
